It is filled with jubilation, togetherness and pageantry with the focus being on the home, family and community. Trinidad's observation of this festival is one of the largest outside of India where whole communities line their houses, streets and build bamboo structures outside that contain thousands of "deyas" (earthen lamps) making for an enchanting night-time experience.
