Here we go again

Our blog left off in August 2014 when we returned in Sea Star to the Great Lakes from our southern travels.  Once back in Lake Huron we took a slip for 5 years time in Kincardine, Ontario's marina.  The only passage we made on Sea Star worth noting during that time was a 5 week transit to Lake Superior.  We traveled along Manitoulin Island's southern coast and up the St. Mary's River to Sault Ste Marie.   In Lake Superior we visited anchorages along the east coast as far north as Wawa.  We also ventured out into the lake to explore Mitchipicoten Island and Isle Parisienne.   Our return passage was through the north channel.
While in Lake Superior we encountered just one other boat, that being "Senecio" (Jeff Garrett and Marie Johnson out of Bayfield).  We had the pleasure of crossing paths with them again in the Cove Island anchorage (off Tobermory).
While in the North Channel we were delighted to find our cruising friends who we'd last seen in the Bahamas; Bruce Beyer and Lynda Creor (Jetstream) afloat in the beautiful new Catalina sailboat, "Repose".
With the goal of re-positioning Sea Star for cruising each winter in Florida and the Bahamas, Barry set sail south from Kincardine in May 2020 with his good friend, Kevin Heslop along to crew.
After several mechanical problems, Barry and Kevin pulled into Port Stanley on Lake Erie where Barry made engine repairs.  As Sea Star relaunched Bill Wild swapped places with Kevin and came on board to assist with the passage through the Erie Canal to the Hudson River where Robin Smith swapped places with Bill and the boat was moved as far south as Reedville, Virginia.  There she was hauled out and put into storage in Jenning's boat yard in July 2019.
