Touring with LaBete - Mt. Plaisir Hotel - Grand Riviere We over-nighted in the Mt. Plaisir Hotel which is located directly on the beach at Grand Riviere. Regretfully we were off season to see the endangered giant leatherback turtles laying their eggs here as it is the 2nd largest nesting area in the world. The surroundings of lush rainforest and ocean beach were breath-taking. To reach Grand Riviere we edged our way along the north coast road which narrows and eventually ends not too far past our destination. The north coast mountain range drops down to the sea here and the beauty of the rainforest is overwhelming.
