Great Race - Super Modified Class - 125 mph. Mr. Solo is all about speed and definitely the boat to beat as it has taken first place 7 times in the past 9 years. It holds the record time of 58 minutes for the 93 mile open water course. We were delighted to meet and chat with Harold Grady. He is part-owner of the company "Rahmoc", out of Concord, North Carolina. They built the engines that power Mr. Solo which are 2 Chevy V8 racing blocks, each 500 cubic inch, 750 hph, normally aspirated and carburated; gasoline powered. Mr. Solo has the most successful and experienced crew in the Great Race and we were thrilled to meet and chat with them: Darin Marshall - throttle Hayden Charles - driver Gino Fusco - navigator Kenneth Charles - mechanic Mr. Solo's tunnel hull was built by "Marine Technology", a St. Louis company that is co-owned by 2 very talented men; Randy Sisim and Mr. Solo's hull designer, Gary Stray. Truly the combined talent and expertise of these men have made Mr. Solo the unbeatable force that it is; however, a viable contender has come forth this year, Team Baico III. They have combined the same hull design and engines as Mr. Solo and offer themselves as an exciting super modified class competitor in this year's race. May the best team win.
